I’ve always been the kind of person who finds beauty in the unexpected.

Like spotting a Roman-styled aqueduct nestled among Kyoto’s serene temples or discovering how popular perfumes once smelled like leather and blood. My curiosity pulls me down the most delightful rabbit holes, and honestly, I’ve never been one to resist.

Some of my favourite memories come from following that curiosity. Like the time I trekked through the Swiss Alps to visit a spa designed by my favourite architect. On the way, my friends and I were stopped by a herd of goats with bells so loud it sounded like a chaotic symphony. We couldn’t stop laughing as they leisurely clanged their way across the road, completely unbothered by their captive audience.

In Venice, I tried squid ink pasta for the first time and stumbled upon a tapas spot so incredible I still dream about it. And then there was Capri, where I spotted ricotta and fig gelato. Not exactly a flavour I’d imagined loving, but trying new things is kind of my thing. Turns out, it was amazing. The best gelato I’ve ever had, paired with a sea so mesmerizing it felt like the world paused to take it in with me.

That said, as much as I love jet-setting, I’m just as happy closer to home. My two cats rule the house, usually from their throne on my lap while I’m laughing at a favourite comedy (Parks and Rec, anyone?) or arguing over strategy in a video game with friends. Beneath my polished exterior is a self-proclaimed nerd who’s just as excited to debate the nuances of infrastructure or AI as to share a tucked-away art exhibit or recommend a great place to grab a drink. For me, it’s the little things: unexpected connections and shared passions that make life extraordinary.

Romance, to me, is about balance. It’s the thrill of dressing up for a night out paired with the comfort of being completely yourself. The best connections happen when we let our guard down and share the things that truly light us up: our quirks, our passions, and the dreams we hold close. For me, there’s nothing more captivating than seeing someone’s eyes shine as they talk about what they love most.

I’ve never been one to follow the script, and I’m proud of crafting a life that feels intentional and free. Whether it’s sipping cocktails at a tucked-away jazz club, testing our teamwork in an escape room, or swapping stories that leave us laughing until it hurts, I believe the best moments are the ones we create together.

When I’m not exploring new corners of the city or savouring fresh uni, I find balance in pilates, walking meditations, cold plunges, and quiet moments in the sauna. Life isn’t meant to be rushed; it’s meant to be relished in every bite, every laugh, and every wonderfully imperfect moment.

There’s so much more to share, but I’ll save those stories for when we meet. I’m all about finding beauty in the unexpected and joy in the little things. So tell me, what lights you up?
